Citrus and celery are what put Oviedo on the map, and we are celebrating both as we select the Oviedo Menu of the Year for 2016 at The Oviedo Preservation Project’s Citrus & Celery Cook-Off at Taste of Oviedo! Join us March 12, 2016 as we pick one winner from each of the following categories: Starters, Sides & Salads, Main Course,Dessert, and Liquid Refreshment. The only hard and fast rule is that every entry must contain citrus, celery, or both.
This event is designed for the home cook, though restaurants are welcome in our Pro Division. Registration is open now through March 1 at CookOff.OviedoTraditions.org.
We need 100 members of the public to step up and help us detemine this year’s winners. Pre-registration as a judge is encouraged, as space is limited. This year, for the first time in nearly a decade, Community Judges will be encouraged to sample ALL of the entries in the cook-off tent. You won’t want to miss it!
All cooking is done off-site, and the public sampling begins at 11:30 a.m. Visit Cookoff.OviedoTraditions.org for more details and to register to COOK and EAT some of the best food at Taste of Oviedo!
